BCGA School Golf Program

The CN Future Links Golf Program is provided by the BCGA and its partners. The program is designed to forge a “link” between youth and the sport of golf as well as “ Ensure the Future of Golf” in Canada, and more specifically, British Columbia. The program consists of multi-level instruction and rewards, clinics, camps, support material and special programs to raise awareness of junior golf and address the issues of accessibility to promoting golf in this province.

BCGA School Golf

The BCGA School Golf Program is based on improving children’s basic golf skills, by ensuring each lesson is simple, safe and fun. Children will feel comfortable in a physical setting and will have a positive experience, motivating them to continue golf throughout their adult lives. They will also enjoy more personal success and the schools will develop a partnership with the BCGA.

The clinics feature a CPGA professional, who will conduct an introductory session about the sport of golf with assistance from the teachers. Teachers and community volunteers will observe the instruction and be able to utilize the resources in order to implement future programs for the kids at their respective schools. Resources such as equipment and manuals will be provided if the teachers are interested and are confidant in conducting their own sessions.

  • The school clinics will run April 18 th to June 14. Sessions will resume the second week of September.
  • Clinics are preferably run for an entire day with various classrooms running through, for example: if grades four and five could go before lunch time and grade sixes after. (concentration for the clinic is grades, four, five and six – target age is nine and up)
  • The majority of the clinics are held Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday
  • The BCGA provides a complementary visit for the first time in order to establish a Future Links Golf School
