  Golf swings into action in Zone 7
 

June 2 – 7 was a great week for the BCGA School Golf program in the northwest part of the province - Zone 7. Not only did the BCGA director of golf, Jody Jackson work with twelve participants in a Future Links Clinic, the BCGA School Golf Program teed off for the first time at schools in Smithers and Terrace.

More than 300 youngsters ages seven through 17 from Walnut Park Elementary and Muheim Elementary in Smithers and Parkside Alternate School, Veritas School and Mountain View Christian in Terrace were introduced to the basics in golf skills, etiquette and play.

Al Morsund at Muheim Elementary said, “This is a great thing for junior golf throughout our area. The BCGA has done done a terrific job getting this organized and giving kids an introduction to the game.”

“Great!” said Jennifer Forbes a teacher at Walnut Park. “Students and teacher really enjoyed the stations!”
