On April 27 th, the West Kootenay Junior Golf program held their first tournament of 2008 at Birchbank. A total of 24 players participated in the event. The weather was excellent and the course was in great shape.

Ranking for each division were:

Overall Low Gross Gary Janni Birchbank, 71, 2nd Nik Jmaeff Castlegar and 3rd being a tie between Colton Nordquist Granite Point and Matt Zanier Birchbank

17-18 Age 1st Colton Nordquist and Matt Zanier tied, 3rd Havill Leitch of Nakusp and Braedan Chown Balfour tied.

15-16 Age 1st Nik Jmaeff, 2nd Colin Gill Birchbank and 3rd Lauren Taylor Granite Point.

13-14 Age 1st Brenan Moroney Birchbank, 2nd Tyler Mckay Birchbank and 3rd Ryan Jmaeff Castlegar

12 and Under 1st Braedan Mckay Birchbank, 2nd Nathan Mckay Birchbank and 3rd Ryan Fullerton Birchbank.

Females 1st Lauren Taylor, 2nd Kate Weir Birchbank.

The next tournament is in Christina Lake on May 4th.

Register by calling the pro shop at 447-9313 by the Thursday before the tournament or by signing up at the previous tournament. Costs are $15 for 13–18 age group and $10 for 12 and under age group.
