20th Annual Women's Media Golf Classic

June 13, 2007 - The BCGA proudly participated in the 2007 Women’s Media Golf Classic held at Country Meadows on June 13. The staff at the BCGA helped in raising more than $108,000.00 for a very special charity, Variety – The Children’s Charity.

It was a gorgeous day with 200 fabulous golfers enjoying a “hot afternoon” of golfing, or at least pretending to golf. The BCGA was proud to sponsor the first hole and provide a golf pro for some useful on-site tips for the day. As a special gift for every participant, Gicoo Golf of China provided a Beijing Opera golf ball as a special keepsake.

Third Annual Shamrock Open

June 2, 2007 - Kudos to Hot Shots from the Tall Timber Men's Club for their Third Annual Shamrock Open in memory of founding member, Frank Dennedy. The BCGA Player Development Trust Fund is the beneficiary of the Shamrock Open because of Frank's involvement with Junior golf, particularly in Zone 3. The 2007 event had approximately 70 participants and raised more than $2500. Over the past three seasons, the Tall Timber Men's Club has donated roughly $7500 towards the Player Development Fund. Most of the money raised comes from hole sponsors, either friends, family or local businesses.
