It’s a good day to be a Yang

Nanaimo, B.C. (Thursday, July 26) – Andy Yang of Coquitlam, B.C. defeated Shawn Vanderwal of Kamloops, B.C. in a final match play round to claim the 2007 BC Junior Match Play at the Nanaimo Golf Club in Nanaimo, B.C.

Yang and Vanderwal spent the majority of Thursday’s final round neck and neck until heading into the final two holes. Yang distinguished any hope for a Vanderwal comeback when he finished with back-to-back birdies to claim the title halving the final hole with Vanderwal to end the match 2 and 1.

Jennifer Yang of Coquitlam, B.C. claimed the 2007 BC Junior Match Play ion the girls’ side defeating Anica Yoo of Port Coquitlam, B.C. to win a matching sibling trophy. The match went to one playoff hole where Yang ended what she couldn’t on the 18 th hole finishing the match 1 up after 19 holes.
