Gallacher wins BC Senior Men’s Championship Castlegar, B.C.(Thursday, August 09) – John Gallacher of Burnaby,B.C., put together rounds of 72-72-74 for 2-over par 218 to capture the BC Senior Men’s Championship. It was a wire-to-wire finish with Gallacher, winning by just one stroke over second place finisher Kent Brown of Colville, Wash. Marc Pezzin, of Kelowna, B.C., firing the low round of the tournament, moved up the leaderboard to round out the top three with a final 4-over par 220. In the Super Senior’s division, Wayne Rossington of Invermere, B.C., ran away with the title by nine strokes carding a final 231. Ron Stone of Penticton, B.C., finished second with 240 followed by third place finisher, George Grafton of Gibson’s, B.C., with 244. Gallacher, Bates, Pezzin and David Mick of Victoria, B.C., will make up the B.C. Team for the Canadian Senior Men's Championship at Kawartha Golf & Country Club in Peterborough, Ont. September 5 - 7, 2007. The BC Senior’s Zone Championship was announced on Wednesday with Zone 3 earning the title. Gallacher, along with Brian Bates of Fort Langley, B.C., Gudmund Lindbjerg of Port Moody, B.C. and Ron Peterson of Coquitam, B.C., carded a two-day total of 441 for first place while Zone 5 was second at 464. |
