Sorenstam’s New Golf Course Gives New
Meaning to the Term ‘Slope Rating’

British Columbia junior golfer, Kate Weir of Trail, B.C. got the chance of a lifetime Monday when she got to present LPGA champion, Annika Sorenstam with a gift. Sorenstam was in town to help announce a new 18-hole championship golf course located at the base of Mount Grey in Rossland. The course has been designed by Sorenstam and renowned coursed architect Thomas McBroom.

Sorenstam, a former national level skier in Sweden, returns to the mountains, setting her latest golf course design at the base of some of the world’s best skiing — giving new meaning to the term slope rating.
